Sharmin Smith wants the world to know that the causes and advocacy are at her core! She encourages intelligent and thoughtful debate in our country. Sharmin wants her readers to know that they can make it through anything! She is widely considered an advocate for victims of pedophilia, abortion rights, police reform, and social issues.
Death Penalty:
Child molesters are some of the worst people on Earth and we can do better as a country to protect the innocent! Sharmin is pro-death penalty for the worst of the worst crimes. She believes that we are not strict enough on our most violent offenders.
Police Reform:
Police corruption is a real thing and it runs deep in society. We can do a better job at “policing our police.” Sharmin wants to promote a better environment for cops and civilians/More reform.
Abortion:
“Pro-Choice, Nuff said.” It’s a woman’s choice what to do with her body. Abortion should be an option for all women.
Gun Control:
“Anyone who has ever used a gun to protect themselves likes guns and I like guns, but I’m pretty sure our military is the best-regulated militia in the history of the world. Anyone who thinks they’re going to stand against them and hurt them in their own country is no longer sound in the head and should not have one.”
Health Care:
“I’m funny about my money and I am not paying for something I can’t use until I’m in my 60’s when I need it now. Remove the caps on income, combine all the programs into one, and let’s give ourselves a sweet deal on goods and services. People need help now.”
Flat tax + wages = balanced budget:
“I don’t trust any politician who uses a credit card analogy. As a mortgage underwriter, I’d much rather help the nation underwrite our budget. I support a wage that matches the age and a 10% flat federal tax with no write-offs or deductions. Corporations are people and everyone plays, so everyone pays. For those curious about the military portion of the budget, FHA says the house shouldn’t exceed 29%. Our government holds us to standards they don’t keep for themselves and it’s time we remind them who the boss is.”
Education:
“Things have changed and our education system needs to too. With the tax and budget changes, we’ll have more than enough money to pay for everything we need. Our citizens are our greatest asset and we all benefit when each person reaches their highest and best good.”
BLM:
“Our country was built on violence by abusers who controlled their victims through fear and intimidation. The first step to healing is admitting you have a problem. If we listen with our hearts and we get this one right, we’ll solve the other problems too. We can’t fix every mistake our ancestors made, but we can right some wrongs.”
LGBTQIA+:
“I am a proud mom, who supports the right to love whoever makes you happy. As long as the decisions are made by consenting adults, I don’t care. I feel like if this community is going to continue to come up with cool names like the “alphabet mafia” then allies should be allowed to say they are part of it. Even if we are not technically part of your alphabet we want to be part of your mafia. By we, I mean me, I want to be able to say I’m part of the alphabet mafia. May we put an E on the end for all the extra people, we want to come to the party too.”
